process
Desjardins Creative strongly believes that only by understanding your goals and effective planning can we deliver a successful project to our clients.
To that end, we use the following methodology:
discovery
Before we consider any project, we need to understand these five basic questions:
- Who are you marketing to? Knowing your target market is the first step.
- What do you want your web site to do - Sell? Entertain? Inform?
- What are your goals for your web site? Short, mid and long term goals.
- Do you want to manage it yourself, or would you want support? Or both?
- How do you plan to tell your market about your site?
If you are uncertain yourself, we can help you define the answers. With these answers, we greatly enhance your chances of online success. [dcg] also offers a number of industry specific solutions.
planning
Once we understand your objectives (above) we can begin planning your project. Solutions projects have established plans, while custom projects follow this methodology:
- Define marketing goals and response methodology.
- Establish the design criteria, and technology
- Outline the page structure and navigation flow.
- Create a client list of materials required.
- Define the dynamic and/or database requirements.
- Establish development targets for the production of the web site.
- Create the budget & delivery timetable.
development
The development process can range from a few weeks for adapting one of our solutions, to several months depending on the size of the project. In the case of multilingual projects, we factor in longer development periods, each to deal with a specific language choice.
deployment
The deployment phase is an opportunity for the client to familiarize themselves with how to manage and effectively use their web site. Training is provided while the site undergoes localization and final testing.
marketing (optional)
Desjardins creative can provide the initial launch promotion, or provide ongoing support of your web project. As a general rule, while we may build web sites for competitors, we do not market competing clients in the same market place. Please contact us today to see if we are available to market your firm within your local marketplace.
revision
As we continue to review your sites performance, it may be necessary to tweak elements to improve overall performance and client retention. During the first 90 days of any live project we monitor traffic, responses and provide alternatives to our client to improve performance.
If we have an ongoing marketing relationship, the revision process is extended to all forms of advertising, email campaigns, and localized marketing.
